Julia, you have an interesting approach. I like to read, cover to cover, as you say, but it doesn’t necessarily mean I read every word. I give myself permission to skip, sentences, paragraphs or entire chapters.

I also like to read with a highlighter and a pen. Important points I highlight, sometimes entire pages. The pen I use to write random thoughts, questions, and conclusions in the margins. When I finish the book I let it rest and then go back to re-read the highlights and my notes. That process has resulted in some interesting insights.

I will look at adding some of your suggestions to my next book. Thanks for sharing.
